About Alpine Wool Arts

Alpine Wool Arts is a small textile studio dedicated to the production of hand-worked wool objects. Drawing from historic pattern forms and working materials, our collections emphasize restraint, repetition, and material integrity. We produce in limited quantities, prioritizing clarity of form, longevity of materials, and continuity across collections. Variations in surface and form are inherent to the process and contribute to the character of the work.

Alpine Wool Arts grew from a deep respect for landscape, material, and the quiet power of objects made to last. What began as a love for traditional textile arts has evolved into a focused practice—creating hand-hooked wool pieces shaped by place, restraint, and care.

Our collections draw inspiration from northern landscapes, wildlife and forest silhouettes, open meadow terrain, and the idea of home as a place of belonging. Each piece is crafted slowly, in small batches, using natural wool chosen for its depth, durability, and warmth. We believe that meaningful objects are not replaced—they are kept, lived with, and allowed to gather memory over time.

Stewardship is central to our practice. A portion of our proceeds supports land conservation through the National Forest Foundation, honoring the landscape of our family’s home in La Canada Flintridge, California and the mountain environments that shape our collections.

Thank you for visiting our studio and for welcoming these textile objects into your home. And, of course, a quiet “woof” from Oliver.
